Hello Lovelies,
Here I am with my first DT
project for Country View Crafts for June, using the chosen theme
‘Seaside’ for the challenge this month.
You can find the challenge on here: https://www.facebook. com/groups/164920247712393
You'll
need to join the group to be able to participate. The Challenges are
open worldwide as Country View Crafts do ship overseas too.
You’ve
got until the end of the month to join in and can enter up to 5 times
with different makes using products and brands that are stocked by
Country View Crafts.
The prize for this month is a fabulous bundle of seaside goodies from Art By Marlene. One person will be selected as the winner by the random selector generator.
So,
my first project is of Miss Dee (Beached Dee by Janet Klein of AALL and
Create), all glam in her bikini having been ‘snapped’ at the seaside
where she loves to hang out.
Using a template of a Polaroid that I drew from specs found on Google, I cut this out, ready to frame the ‘model’ herself.
I stamped Miss Dee with a Ranger Archival Jet Black inkpad on a piece of white cardstock cut to the size of Polaroid card. I marked the square area that would be the 'photograph'. Then I coloured her in with Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor pencils and lightly washed the background around her with different blue watercolor pencils too.
Next, in my journal, I
randomly stamped the fishes from Poseidon by Janet Klein of AALL and
Create, with a Versamark stamp pad and
heat embossed them with WOW clear gloss embossing powder.
I
spritzed the page with a little water, then ‘puffed’ a little Cosmic
Shimmer Copper into the wet area and moved it around with a brush until I
was
happy with the look and let it dry.
Using dies from Tim Holtz Sizzix Christmas Cookies and Vault Love Birds, I die cut ones that resembled beach life.
I painted these lightly with my Tim Holtz Watercolor pencils to have a pastel look about them. I also drew and cut out a sun from a piece of paper in my stash, and also a couple of white clouds.
I
added the wording ‘Bikini Body Ready’ from the Beached Dee stamp, but
individually stamped them in a line to make it look hand written line
onto the Polaroid, rather than how the stamp itself is made with the
words in 3 lines. I used a stamping platform to line up the words.
I
positioned and glued the Polaroid frame onto the 'photo', and then added it to the page, layering my
beach life diecuts around it.
And there you have it. Miss Dee at the
seaside.
I loved making this page and I hope you like it enough to maybe have a go at making one too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Have a great day
Hugs
Carol
