It's my second DT project for Country View Crafts and Challenges this month and the Wintry Scene theme has certainly hit the spot across the UK. It's been pretty cold and snow definitely has had a look in, in some places.
The challenge runs until the end of January and is open worldwide and you can join the group here:
https://www.facebook.com/
You must use products from brands that Country View Crafts stocks, and please mention them in your post.
You can enter 5 times each month with different projects and one winner will be selected randomly. There is a fabulous Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text Stamp CMS394 set to be won by the lucky winner.
As I'm hoping to create more in my art journal this year, I've created a scene this time with Tim Holtz Idea-ology products. I'm also trying to be a bit more adventurous using collage and Tim's Idea-ology products are perfect for this.
So onto how I created my page....
First, I randomly dabbed Distress Inks, Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean, in that order, on my page, waiting for each one to dry before adding the next.
Then for the fun part - I dug out my Idea-ology packs and Sticker Books and sorted through which ones I was going to use. I decided to go with a Pocket Card as my main background - these are great as they're already printed collage which have the depth and interest ready for you to create with.
From there, I found my focal point in the Idea-ology Paper Dolls Christmas Noel pack - the little girl all wrapped up winter, with her little dog.
I continued to look through my ephemera and packs, and pulled out a collage strip (Tim Holtz Idea-ology - Collage Strips Large TH94367), a pointing hand, (Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera Pack 2023) the cellotape stickers, (Tim Holtz Idea-ology - Cello Sticker Tape TH94386) a label sticker, (Tim Holtz Idea-ology Classic Label Stickers TH93959) - which I wrote a random number on, a postage stamp from the (Tim Holtz Idea-ology Sticker Book Postmarked TH94387) and a sticker sentiment 'Let it Snow' (Tim Holtz Idea-ology Label Stickers Christmas).
I found a book page and tore around the edges and laid it on my page, then proceeded to assemble the different bits of Idea-ology I'd picked out for my project.
Finally I added the sentiment and some Sizzix Thinlits Scribbly Snowflakes 665582 with Stickles to finish.
I really enjoyed making this and hope you'll be inspired to dig out your stash, have a play and maybe join in our Challenge on Facebook.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs
